It was summer, I was walking down a street of a popular Italian seaside town when my eye caught a glimpse of a very peculiar sight: a room full of pictures of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. Paintings, prints, shrines, the little apartment was packed with sacred images. So I looked in and saw a little old lady sitting on a sofa, staring in the void. I said “Hello! Goodmorning! What a lovely room! Do you mind if I take a picture?”. The old lady stared at me and looked puzzled. She raised her hand gesturing the common Italian expression “Waddya Want?!" and I heard a menacing voice from the kitchen demanding me to leave immediatly…so I just took this picture and ran. Quite an adrenaline rush!
Yesterday I developed a roll of TMAX 400 film using the Caffenol Process (thanks http://caffenol.blogspot.it/ for the inspiring recipe!) and here is the result…part of the film went kaputt, probably because I rubbed it too hard while loading it onto the reel…but I loved the ghostlike veiled quality of the images.
